Most people in the US cannot believe fuel prices in the UK and think you are joking when you tell them the price of fuel here.
I am struggling with the consumption on my 2.0 litre turbo god knows what a 3.0 litre would be like to run!
If it was mine it would end up as an ornament!....lol

My solution is LPG. I used to run a sensible Mazda 6 diesel estate - cheap to run but dull, dull, dull. Now I have a thumping big V8 but buy fuel at less than half the cost of unleaded, so running costs are about the same and I'm having fun!

John

PS: sorry Capt Jack for taking thread off topic!

Where on earth do you buy LPG at less than half the price of unleaded??

Morrisons want 65p, BP want 68p. Petrol is 120p, So I'm allways buying it at well over half the cost of petrol.

Here in Huddersfield... it was 58.9 last time I filled up (about 9 or 10 days ago)

No worries John - I think you are absolutely right.

IF that black S90 is as good as it looks, then the way to go would be LPG.

Wonder how much they'd give me for my old V70......?

Looking again at the pics makes me think it is a LWB model - the rear door looks a bit long. I wonder if perhaps it's been a funeral car or something?

The only trouble is to pay £2k ish for it, plus £1500 for an LPG conversion makes it quite a dear proposition. The sad thing is that it could very well end up being one of those cars that everyone would like but nobody actually wants!

Finally - and off topic again I know - LPG is 59p/litre up to around 63p/litre round here. Petrol is nudging £1.20. When I first got converted 5 years ago LPG was 30 to 35p/litre, and petrol 75p to 80p, so I think it's fair to say that the differential is slightly less favourable - but still worth it if you do a big mileage, or already own a converted car. Bear in mind though that I believe that conversion costs are less now than a few years ago.

Cheers

Jack

These cars are a pain in the arris as far as petrol goes, the only way i can afford to run mine is,being retired, doing all my servicing /repairs ect, and not going out in it much. When i do though, it's a delight now its coming good.it was running like a tractor when a first got it.
PS.Car in starter post is defininitely a Limo i think.
