Default SC901 MP3 connection?

Hi All,

I recently purchase a portable mp3 player (not an ipod, the new sony walkman).
I'd like to connect it to my SC901 in my C70, without having to use one of those cassette player adaptors.

Any ideas on how to go about this? I've seen an alpine cd chager to mini-jack lead (£14.99). Would I be able to just plug this in to the CD changer port on the back of the stereo and then plug the jack into the walkman?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Paul

If you have a look at the earlier post a bit further down the page on iPod connections, and the link posted there, you'll get some info on how to provide an auxilliary input socket for the SC 901. Sadly, it isn't as easy as a simple £15 lead!

Thanks for the reply.

I've read through the other topics and I'm more confused than ever! I've no idea what it is that I need.

I'm not keen on using an FM transmitter. I'd rather just have the mini-jack lead poking out somewhere that I can plug directly into the mp3 player.

I understand that I don't just need the CD changer to mini-jack lead but need something else. Lots of talk about different things on the forum, but what exactly is it that i need and where can I get it?

From a rather perplexed volvo owner : /

Dunno - what is an 801 PSS???? If it's an SC series head unit, then what I listed in the pdf file above should work.

Still none the wiser, I'm afraid, but if it's an SC series head unit with provision for an external CD changer, then the options I've listed in the pdf document apply.

Dunno what has happened as I replied to this earlier today but it seems to have vanished! Anyway, my note above and my commenst in the other thread on iPod connection with SC 901 are also valid for the SC 801 whether it's just an auxilliary-in you need or an iPod interface.
