Default S40 Suspension: Drop link stabilizer query

Hi all, after a loud bang and a sudden clattering like a washing machine full of spanners I discovered that one of my rear drop link stabilizer bolts had made a bid for freedom and the other is looking a bit tired.

The upshot is I need new rear drop link bolts for a 2010 2.0D with comfort suspension (straight rod type) but none of the local factors have the Volvo parts in stock and I don't really want to wait a few days if there's an alternative that could be collected today.

They all have the Ford parts available to collect - is the Focus 2.0D part the same as the Volvo part?

They might be similar. There are different variations of these drop links between the volvo models as well as the focus ones.

Best bet would be to measure up the one you have that you are looking to replace and the angle of the mounts on it. Then look at the focus on,e is there some in stock and make sure the measurements matchup and you should be ok there.

Have you checked Euro car parts? They usually always have these drop links availabile and its done by part number so it will tell you if that part is available for your can and not just if it fits a focus or your car.

Cheers - I tried online car parts and found they list all the cars a particular item will fit and the S40 straight bolt drop links on there are shared with the C30, Focus MK2 and Focus C-Max.
I'll bite the bullet and see how I get on.

I can confirm that the Focus part was a perfect fit, although getting the remains of the old one out was way more faff than fitting the new one! Slowly lowering the jack with a screwdriver under the snapped pin did the trick.

Sadly it didn't cure the noisy rattling which turned out to be a top strut mount failure.
