Yes I must say I junked mine at around 3mm but 5 sounds a little conservative.

I suppose if you have had 38k out of them then that’s justification perhaps?

The old Cross Climate 1 set served me very well, 4 years and approx 30k miles.
No complaints at all with these tyres decent grip in all weathers and they last a bit too, I wouldnt use anything else now.
Highly recommended

Steve
I struggling to find stock just been quoted £635 for a set! Would rip their arm off at £560

That’s what I paid.

Sign up to black circles and wait for one of their 15% discount flash sales that happen all the time.

So found a price of £470 delivered and local preferred place is £96 to fit (£20 a wheel plus vat) reasonable? £566 all in but more hassle

Or might have found it for £525 fully fitted but unknown local garage

I believe that I got the last few CC2's in the country, tried lots of places who couldn't find them, a good local supplier could only find 3 but came up with a full set in a couple of days. He reckons that most of the 'winter stock' hadn't been rolled out for this year yet. was very pleased with the price too, £560 all in included fitting, valves, balance, disposal etc.

Read some good reviews for CC2 so was prepared to wait for them

Local supplier could get 2 pairs but not a set of 4 can get cross climates for a decent price I can wait a few weeks if I can get some cc2 for a decent price ….

I wouldn't normally but as has been said winter tyres are regarded as end of life at 4mm and they usually have additional tread wear indicators for this. Given their age and mileage, and as I would be expecting to change them in the spring when they hit 4mm or less my thinking was as I've got that money to spend I'd rather have a new set with 10mm of tread at the beginning of winter....

(A lot of winter tyres start with 9mm-10mm of tread rather than 8mm on summer tyres).
