Default So close to an MOT pass....760 project. Battery clamp?

So the 760 project has failed its MOT, completely expectedly. However the good news is that was for a binding brake, so caliper is being refurbed and we'll be on our way. Apparently it sprang a coolant leak during the test but it was steaming and not pooling, so we got away with that one, as much as I need to resolve it.

Today's question is about battery clamps, I fashioned something temporary but it ended up being an advisory as the battery wasn't secure enough. I can see there should be a long screw rod and clamping plate, missing from my vehicle, so of course I need to get my hands on one of them (or try and make something better than my previous lash-up).

Don't suppose anyone on here has one to hand off a breaker etc? Assume all 700-series have the same clamping parts.

Thanks all.

Have a chat with Luke aka 360beast Russ, fairly sure he has some battery clamps.

As for the rad, i did a write up recently on changing the 760 rad for something not listed for it but that does the job. Think i posted the link to it somewhere. If you know where the leak is, you can try using Milliput on it instead.

Your struggle to find the clamps & bolts. Luke (360) was making some, but you may need a get creative with the bolt replacement

Mine was missing a battery clamp so I just put a ratchet strap I picked up for about a £5 under the battery tray and over the battery. It's passed with that for the last 3 or 4 years.

Tool-less removal too

How did you get the strap under the battery tray?

I think he means under the plastic tray, so it isn't secured still it just appears to be.

Correct. But I screwed the plastic tray down so it doesn't weeble wobble around.
