Default 960 Turbo J plate.

Now then, due to a career change (private hire) I am selling my recently acquired 960 Turbo saloon auto.

The attached pic shows the car with the ratty old tyres; it now has Draco alloys shod with part-worn Firestones.

This snap gives a better idea of the colour.

There will be more and better snaps going up over the weekend.

As far as I can see everything works on the car, with the exception of one lazy headlamp wiper and the warm a/c. The car has 4x leccy windows, leccy sunshine roof, full grey leather interior, overmats on the carpet. Anything else? Oh yes - it's a Turbo, so it goes like stink!

The car is MOT'd until Oct 20th 2010 with only one advisory - "battery insecure".

Since I got the car I have fitted a Volvo CR906 (I think, I will confirm the number over the weekend), a working power antenna (s/h) and a new master cylinder. I also had 4 wheel alignment done by a local body-shop, a cracking investment.

I have taxed the car 'til 09/10 and will cash this in unless the purchaser wishes to pay for it separately.

Price:- £465 ono, £625 with VED disc.

If interested, PM me for my contact details.

Thanks for looking, Nick H, aka C.A.

Default 4 wheel alignment?

Sorry, can't buy your car unless you know a means of stacking Volvo's....
I may be wrong but your car has a live rear axle, yes? How did the firm adjust 4 wheel alignment, other than perhaps castor/camber/tracking to the front?

The 1988 onwards 760 saloons and the pre 1995 960 saloons had the first generation of Volvos Independant Rear Suspension and thus are fully adjustable.

Good luck to you Nick in your new venture . Nothing wrong with the Octavia's , after all its a VW ! Just be carefull with the gearbox on it , they have a tendancy to go through bearings !

Only reason I know this , is some friends of mine drive them as a taxi/private hire in the Cardiff area and have had this problem . Apparently Skoda know of the problem , and have mended a few under warranty .

Bugger; Lampeter, West Wales - meet half way, lol?

Seriously though, if I remember right from other posts of yours you've a base down south, am I right? Ah, just had a peek, Harpenden is mentioned.

Right, Lampeter to Edinburgh, 354 miles. Lampeter to Harpenden, however, is a mere 200 miles - I could meet you somewhere round Gloucester or if you'd prefer to use the motorway system I'll drive to either of the Severn bridges.

Give me your thoughts, Nick.
