Multicoloured theatre lighting XC60?
I’ve just received my XC60 T8 Recharge R Design Pro MY22. Overall I’m pretty happy, but as well as no CarPlay I’ve also noticed that there’s no multicoloured theatre lighting which was on the spec list when I ordered.
Does anyone have this on their MY22 XC60, has it just been missed off my order or is it not available? |

It is easy to miss even when you have it, it is not very impressive and a bit of a letdown. They are only a few small lights that glow and not very bright on the interior light clusters.
You have to scroll page up Settings/lights and lighting/interior lighting/then scroll page up to see the light colour options

Thanks nu11eaf, yes that’s what I did on my S90 (MY18 with Sensus) the effect was subtle but l liked it. The Google system on my xc60 doesn’t seem to have this option.

Maybe another missing feature down to the chip shortage

I agree... it's subtle but even so it's pretty visible. When I'm driving at night, outside city's lights, for example a journey to the countryside, you can see the interior of the car illuminated by the different colours. And if you shut down the brightness of the SENSUS screen by pressing home button for a few seconds, multicoloured lights will be even more visible.

Yep, another missing feature on the AAOS google system I am afraid. The lights are there and you can configure the brightness but can't change the colour yet. Hopefully it will get added at a later date!

I wouldn't count on it... but with Volvo everything is possible.

It’ll come in a software update. Theatre lighting including changing colours are on the spec sheet so it’ll be coming soon 😊

There are a number of fairly significant issues and missing features with the Google Infotainment system that have been around since inception last year. I think what may have happened is that the software development has hit delays. However the car itself could not be delayed so Volvo had to ship essentially unfinished software and plans to fix the issues and missing features with software updates, hence 'completing' the car. Just my thoughts, based on absolutely no inside knowledge, but it seems plausible.
