Default XC60 potential buyers info.

I have learnt alot on this forum and it has really helped me get a good deal on my XC60. So I'd thought I'd let you know what I have learnt.

The Volvo Finance offer - if you take out the finance thro' Volvo (min 7k) you will get an additional 1000 pounds off the price of your car. But you can then immediately pay off the finance/loan.

I did this today - no questions or problems.

I look out a 24 month HP agreement at 17% (gulp!) on a loan of 8000 pounds and as a result got the aforementioned 1000 GBP off the already negotiated deal with my local dealer.

The loan gets put on the Volvo Finance system once being signed by yourelf and the dealership - this takes 48 hours (mine took a little longer as there was a faff with my ID).

You can then phone 08456 012932 and ask for a settlement figure on the loan (mine was 8103 pounds) and pay it off by debit card.

So by doing this you can get an additional 897 pound discount off your already dealer negotiated quote. (There is a 95 pound setup fee and the extra is calc on a daily interest basis)

It's free money - if you have the readies to pay off the loan.

Good luck.

Isn't there a facility fee of £125 and a purchase fee of £95 to pay somewhere?

I assume everyone knows that Volvo prices go up after the weekend.

You are right there's a 95 pound purchase fee with the very last payment and a 125 pound facility fee

So I'm not sure why or how I was only charged 103 pounds - but Hey I'm not complaining !

Did not know about the price rises --- what %age are we talking about?

The new prices are actually up on the Volvo website but if you get in before Sunday 2359 I understand that the old prices apply.

That would explain why the other day I configured the same car and the price was different!

Also while researching, I found that if you are a member of the Volvo Owners Club for more than six months you qualify for free metallic paint and a percentage discount over and above anything you negotiate. For the XC60 it was 3% or 3.5% (I forget exactly). Not helpful for me as I don't want to wait six months.

Seems to have been extended with the 3 years free servicing.

http://www.volvocars.com/uk/All-Cars...tion_xc60.aspx

"Subject to availability at participating dealers for vehicles registered between 01/07/09 and 30/09/09. "

I got a couple of quotes from the dealer and they offered this extra finance discount as well as the extra 2000 available from Volvo UK for a PX. Now a case of getting as much as I can off their margins!

However as mentioned previously, prices will be going up a tad. Not sure how much yet.

Default free servicing

I got the three years free servicing thrown in with my new D5 XC60 - should there be any documentation or do we just rely on the dealers to remember??

Eventually, you will receive a voucher through the post (takes a few weeks to arrive).

I have attached mine to the Service History Book, just in case I loose it. Sure to be on file anyway.
