Default STOLEN Nautic Blue S70

I regret to report that my S70 was stolen today from the South Bedfordshire Area. It is a standard S70 2.5 10 valve, Nautic Blue (plain dark blue) with beige velour, alloys, Registered R363 YRP, no distinguishing marks. The police think it will be used for other criminal activites in Luton, Bedford, Hitchin... anywhere within range. Please keep your eyes peeled guys. Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi Richard,

Sorry to hear of your loss, did your car have an alarm/immobilizer?
Not sure on the price of scrap metal ATM but their is a hell of a lot of transit tippers and beaverback vans going about with scrap metal loaded on the back also seen them with a car towed behind on a few occasions, May be worth wording your local scrap-yards up- just in case some t**t has weighed it in for a quick dollar,
Lets hope this is not the case but you never know.

The house was broken into and several items were taken, plus the keys to the Volvos. Fortunately they haven't taken the new Volvo and I've taken measures to secure it until I can get locks and/or keys changed. I'd better not give too many details about how they got in until I've had time to sort out the damage.

I'll keep everyone posted about what's going on and if the boys in blue recover the car or anything.

I've had the car since new almost 14 years ago so am sad that it's gone.

Thanks for your moral support guys.

At least your newer Volvo is still with you so at least you still have that. The S70 isn't exactly the most common car on the road so hopefully with any luck the Police may get a result.

When my house was broken into they took the spare set of keys, I was worried about them coming back for the car so I informed the insurance Co that I wanted to change the locks and alarm code, they agreed to pay £500. The Volvo main dealers gave me an estimate of £600. When I went to pick the car up after the work was done they hit me with a bill of £1100. Managed to get it down to £900 and that was the last time i've been to a main dealer.

The last time we were broken into they took the keys to our V70D5 and drove off in it with our stuff. About one month later the police phoned me to say they thought it was being used in armed robberies, about a month after that the police found it. I thought I could buy it back from the insurance Co but when I went to see it the roof rails, rear seats and other bits had been taken plus all sorts of warning readouts on the dash. Hope this helps
