Is there an elegant solution...
Hi all,
I was wondering if there is an elegant solution to this problem, or if the parts are easily replaced. The problem is this....there are two long trim pieces, each running up the "A" pillar, and along the roof. They have three fixings where the roof rails/bars would sit. They are grey plastic coated. Both of mine have now lost a section of plastic, revealing the alloy underneath. Is it easy to replace them, or should i get the autosol out, strip off the remaining plastic, and polish them? Cheers for any of your thoughts on this...

Internal or external?
If you mean the exterior, mine are already warping along the windscreen (2002), so you might find new is the best value option for a permanent fix, but the ones along the roof should be commonplace from a breakers' yard. Interior, find someone breaking one with the same colour interior, is the best idea. New interior trim bits are VERY expensive.

The External ones. One continuous strip up the windscreen, and along the roof to the rear hatch.

They are quite easy to replace. I have 2, but they are quite long to be posted. Best bet is to get a set from a scrappy near you.

Yes. Start at the windscreen end and get your fingers under the inner edge and twist upwards. They will just pop out of the clips that are underneath. Work your way back along the car lift/twisting them out.

Twist gently is the trick to remove them.
