Default Aluminium intercooler

https://www.speedingparts.co.uk/p/en...940-13477.html

I've bought one of these and the fitment is seriously poor, hence why I've left a 1* review.

It can't be fitted without me actually cutting my slam panel and bending it out then welding it back up as the charge pipe connectors hit the slam panel both sides.

I've asked for a refund and I paid on credit card so if they don't play ball I'll just deal with it through the bank. Either way I'll have lost £60 over the VAT and import fees applied by FedEx.

I've found a KL racing and a D088 intercooler, what is the fitment like on these? I'm loathed to spend more money on a "drop in" intercooler that needs the shape of the car changing to fit it!

With the KL one there are issues with the slam panel fitment. Has to be modified a bit, either bending or trimming the bracket at the top.

Cheers baggy, I'll go for the DO88 one then.

Not sure the Do88 one is worth double the price vs just trimming the KL one and making it fit? Here's some posts from facebook:

Also i think the front lip that the ac would have bolted to needs to be cut off.

Thanks for the heads up. Took the grill out before trying to shut the bonnet just invase. But its all good.
And here's a pic of the Do88 one. I'm sure I also saw a post on turbobricks that something needed to be trimmed too. It's a tight fit!

I did look in to the kl racing one but it is 2795kr then when I add it to basket the postage option is collect from post office for 2350kr so the total is 5145kr which is £386 then there will be vat and import fees on top which takes up to around £428 without the import fees so let's just say it will be £450 plus they say that it is a 2-4 week wait.

I would rather spend the extra £67 and have the better product plus I got DO88 coolant hoses and it took less than a week for them to arrive.

DO88 is a straight fit, just have to cut the rubber top mounts a tad! Great quality too

KL Racing one is a real pig to make fit, even after I bent the tab along the top back into shape from a well known seller who really couldn't have given less of a toss about the lousy packaging or fitment into the car. Performance is decent once installed however. If I had to buy again, I'd go D088. You get what you pay for...

Edit:

New update speedingparts have agreed to refund for the part, postage and import fees and have offered me discount on future orders! I'm very happy with this outcome.

Fair play to them! Good to hear they're looking after their customers.
