Bonnet-scuttle seal
My scuttle to bonnet seal seems to have shrunk and ripped slightly resulting in excessive amounts of water dripping on the cable grommets on the bulkhead and finding ways in.
Is this a common fault? If not I can source a good used one, but if they're all like that then I'll come up with alternative arrangement with an aftermarket seal I guess. https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...-rear/1031977/ |

Oof that genuine item is a bit spendy! esepcially once you add on the Skandix postage.
Two of the clips have come out of the seal on mine, remaining in the scuttle itself (after I leant on the seal when working on the distributor), right above the distributor. Luckily water only seems to get through when the bonnet is opened. It's interesting that they modified the design to fit it with rivets rather than the rather pathetic clips. Perhaps the old design could be drilled to take rivets. |

Scuttle has to come off and quite often the clips are damaged or they don’t fit properly after, once disturbed they can be a pain in the backside. Been there, got the t shirt
