Dreaded Blower fan
Freezing cold in winter, sweating my t*ts off in summer.
Blower fan not running... all controls are fine - cold A/C & warm heater air leaks through vents with a decent forward head-wind! Done lots of research... some say resistor, some say the V50 (2004) doesn't have a resistor, some say blower motor etc. etc. Glove box removed for over a year & I still haven't sort it!!! At the risk of further muddying the water - has anyone solved this problem? Don't know where to go with this??? Darren |

There is no resistor pack for the blower fan in the P1s. It is controlled by a PWM signal, so you're likely looking at replacing the fan itself. There should be a guide on the forum for that and from what I've read that isn't an easy job.

Same problem!
My local garage (one man band - he specialises to a degree on Volvos) says whole dash has to come off for a V50 so for him it's an all day job. He's reluctant to have a go as he hasn't done these before and he thinks it needs a specialist tool to fix so I'm looking for someone else to do it. I bought second hand one as new ones cost £300+. I'll let you know if I solve it. |

Blower motor
I had to change my blower motor,I'm afraid it's a dashboard removal or move it back out of the way to install the new one, I found the hardest part was replacing the screws that hold the motor onto the heater unit .not the easiest of jobs but can be done outside the house, Ford Focus has the same motor if that helps
