Unhappy V70 Head Off Soon Bent Valve Jobby

engine D5
Posted the other day about my v70 2003 D5 having running problems. Have decided to strip the plenum pipes and clean them out ,all intake pipes and aluminium intake cover from the top of engine. Now at the point for head off to check for either 1, cracked head
2, Head gasket gone
3, Valves on all 5 cylinders bent
This is the list of probable causes to 200 psi compression in all 5 cylinders and no revs above '1200' rmp. E,C,U clear only electronic fault is the M,A,F sensor but got that sorted.

Done the obvious tests on injectors ect so just leaves mechanical failiure
will keep you posted (if any one is reading this)

Presume the compression test was done wet and dry to eliminate ring wear. You might have burned exhaust valves/seats or insufficient clearance on the valves. Late timing might burn valves/seats but not contact the pistons and if the seats have burned away a bit the clearance could have gone to zero. I would check valve clearance and stem height if possible before taking off the head.

Default Hydraulic tapet housings destroyed

Took the head off my d5 on sunday. Not good news valves look ok bottom end all good but all 10 inlet side tapet housing that are part of the head casting are sheared away. will put photos on later. Have seen on youtube a video that some clever sod has tig welded the damaged area then re milled new holes for the tapet, just wandering if anyone has a view on how reliable this could be?

have got pics must down size as too high quality to upload.
Just go by the book for the correct head bolt removal sequence as it can warp the head if done wrong. My head was knacked and have just sourced a block and head that I am collecting Friday and hopefully after full inspection and removal from the donor engine will be re-coned by me and fitted next weekend.Still need new gaskets and head bolts ect.
My tappet seat problem aparently is such a precise engineering job to weld then mill I have bitten the expensive bullet and am renewing the head. The bonus with this is that I can check every detail on the head and valves before it goes back on and 3 of my roller rockers were damaged so I will have lots of spares including a bottom end that has done 90k. Will post with the fun details on completion.
