We have a faller at the final hurdle. Off to Denton on Sunday to strip a 760. If I can get finished early enough I might make it just as you're all leaving. What time do you guys reckon it will wrap up at?

Hey There,

I live in St. helens not far from Lowton. Just to let you know there a a couple of hotels actually on the East Lancs (A580) which is two minutes from Penny Flash. The closest one is probably the Holiday Inn near M6 J23.

Holiday Inn Haydock M6, Junction 23

Lodge Lane
Newton le Willows
Merseyside
WA12 0JG

I live within about 500 yds of Pennington Flash.

The very nearest hotel for accommodation is The Park Inn Hotel on the Leigh Sports Village site and within about 200 yds as the crow flies ( across the road as the web page says ).

The hotel is newly built within the past year or two.
I have never been so can't comment on service etc.

The next nearest is probably The Greyhound Hotel on the outskirts of Leigh on the A580 East Lancs Rd. and is about 2 miles away.

This hotel was vastly expanded and modernised just a few years ago.
Again I have never been ( apart from drinks in the bar ) so can't comment on the hotel service though it is a long established hotel of decades.

BTW for anyone coming a distance and expecting to arrive Saturday there is the Southport Air show on Sat and Sun.
About 30 miles away on the coast.

The predicted weather from the BBC website for Sunday in the area is sunny intervals, max 19 deg, min 11 deg.

One hotel I only remembered this morning as I rarely go that way is at the junction of the A580 and A572.
It is actually nearer than the Greyhound and is about 1 mile away.
