Default DPF Removal (to re-fit)

Has anyone got a guide for removing the DPF (to take it to be cleaned)?
I can't seem to find one, only for replacing the back boxes.
I wondered if it was a DIY job or if it's a ball-ache?

I've just reached 198k and the DPF threw the car into limp mode this week. I had it re-generated via VIDA at a garage but the light came back on twice during the next 100mi journey.

I've found a place that cleans them out properly with cleaners and does flow tests before & after etc. but they need me just to take the DPF to them so I wondered if I could remove it or whether steering racks need to be dropped or anything?

Shouldn't be too difficult - but the flange bolts will likely be rotten and need cutting off and replacing. I think there is also a temperature sensor which can be very tight but possibly easier to get out when the DPF if off.

hi,

I think the most difficult is to take the sensor out, as you need to work in a very tight area.

To take the dpf out you need :

take the heat shields out of the turbo.
disconnect the main V-Clamp at the back of the turbo.

Jack up the car, disconnect the rear V clamp, for this, you need to take out the rear bushed support. easy to do with a 13mm key.

Then the DPF is holded by a main strap, that is bolted on the subframe.

it's a long unbolting process with also a 13mm key.
The dpf is heavy and hard to take out.

You also got Sensors to be aware of :
1 temp sensor for the cat
1 temp sensor for the dpf
1 lambda sensor
1 dpf pressure sensor, the one connected with the two hardline.

I can recommend you to change this last sensor, it break so easily when you touch it.

You can also change this sensor before taking your dpf out. I took my dpf out and cleaned it but it was almost new at 273.000km
