Default 1988 240GL for sale to enthusiast. Bargain!

Hi all,
I'm downsizing as I have three cars, and unfortunately the Volvo now has to go.

I bought this beautiful red 2.0l injection 240 4 years ago when the mileage was only 44,000. It has been my daily driver ever since, and has been very well maintained and serviced by a local garage. I have done 50,000 trouble-free miles in those 4 years and now the mileage is 94,000. Despite having 2 other modern cars, it's been our vehicle of choice for all local trips, further afield trips, and even a trip to Burgundy. My wife just loves going in it for tootles in the country, and my teenage nieces think it's a bit of a cult car.

Sadly, it's time to say goodbye. It's taxed until the end of August and MOTd until December. It is in need of a small amount of TLC. There is a wobble on the front suspension between 55mph and 65mph and it generally feels a little loose at these speeds. I suspect a track rod end, balljoint or rear wishbone bush, but it's probably a combination of all three! The driver's seat back has collapsed, so I use one of those mesh bolster cushions and it's surprisingly comfortable - and I suffer from a bad back. The aerial has broken-off. There is evidence of a previous repair on the screen surround, and the paint has now started to crack. It's a very small area and all it needs is filling and painting over.

But here's the good bit!! I only want £150 for it and the promise that you'll look after it and attend to it's little foibles! It's a brilliant car.

I'll be really sorry and sad to see it go, but I have two other cars that my wife and I can both drive (she'll only drive an auto) so it's time for it to go to a fellow enthusiast. I forgot to mention that it's fitted with a good set of Auriga alloys and nearly new (budget) tyres.

PM me or phone 07984 157937.

BE QUICK!!

Smile what a deal

the wheels are worth more than the asking price, and as for the seat back if its the usual fault it can be fixed in a few minutes with a shoe lace and next to no tools.

good luck to how ever gets this great car.

Thanks.
It's true. I know all about 240 values but sometimes there are more important things than getting the top price. I'd much rather this go to an enthusiast who'll keep it going, and I've allowed for the cost of putting those (very small) things right.

Luckily I've got one such enthusiast coming down tomorrow morning (Thursday).

Great news, did it go someone on here? Also it must be a bit younger than you said with it being on a 'G' . Even more of a bargain
