Putting my video professional (IE nerd) hat on I can tell you that even at a low-ish bitrate you only need to watch about 7 minutes of HD video to burn 250MB. That's a couple of film trailers and a bunch of autoplays on Facebook pretty easily.

I doubt it, because her apps, like mine, only get updated when specifically allowed to do so by manual selection in App Store.
My data usage is now up to 350MB since Monday when the sim was changed and data use reset. [today is Friday]

As a test, I've unticked the wi-fi hotspot facility in Sensus, so the next week will be interesting, although I don't envisage doing anything like the mileage from now until next Friday that I've covered in the last five days.
