About half an hour ago ;-)
Depends on what you want to adjust. there is no factory fitted adjustment for brake shoes, but you can get an adjustable H bar from ebay for not a lot of money.
If you just want to adjust the cable:
Slide passenger seat (I presume yours is right hand drive?) all the way back. To be honest, for what it takes, I remove the seat to give me more room.
Take off trim from side of center console.
Pull carpet back and you will see cable for brake, including the adjustment mechanism ( a cylinder type object).
Release parking brake.
Remove circlip from mechanism (don't drop it!).
Wind left hand side of mechanism clockwise to screw it over circlip groove.
Push both halves of mechanism together.
Wind left hand side anticlockwise to expose circlip groove.
Replace circlip. (don't drop it!).
(Can you tell I dropped my circlip and it was a pig to find!).
Pull two halves of mechanism apart. This requires a special Volvo tool.
However, there is a work around.
I use two open ended spanners with a screwdriver between them. Squeezing the ends forces the two cables apart.

Lots of articles on here on how to do it if you search, also several vids on YouTube.

I need to do mine with the new Volvo shoes I have just received. I saw a great YouTube video for how to adjust it but I can't find it now. I have also seen another YouTube video where a guy put a cloth/towel under the cables so when you pulled the circlip off it only fell on the cloth and not down into the beyond
