Yes, I've heard they can do that but I don't believe the individual switch lights would have their own wires in the door harness.
More likely that there's one lighting power supply wire and there's an internal failure in the switch module unless anyone who's fixed this before can advise otherwise

I didn't find out what the exact problem was. They just changed the entire module for a new one. I didn't get an invoice as it was sorted under the warranty so I have no idea how much the module cost, but it was a very quick job to change it.
