Default Ill car

well, set of for a few days with our caravan and only got a few miles down the road and had to stick it on the hard shoulder. Recovery guy arrived and took us away with the words " head gasket" ringing in our ears. Called nephew who came after work and within 5 Minutes told me it was a faulty coil pack and even showed me why. By this time all shops are shut and now have to go first thing tomorrow to get away early.
Heres hoping
Wish us luck
Chris

Recovery guys are good for recovery and bog all else... one told my Dad once his polo needed "head gasket" but once I'd correctly diagnosed and fitted a new thermostat then all was fine.

yeah an rac guy told my dad that he had a cooked turbo and a blown head gasket, 300 quid worth of train tickets and a 300 mile recovery later, his local mechanic pushed the turbo hose back on, and away she went !!!

Unhappy Update

Here we go.
New plugs, about £40
no difference
New ignition coil and HT leads from ECP, around £80.
No better
£50 for auto electrician. Ruled out the injector on affected cylinder
No better.
Taking it to Volvomax tomorrow for complete diagnostic and road test.
Apparently a sticky or burnt valve is the probable problem.
I think this might be a bit sore
