Michael;

This should really be its own new thread as it is not related to the old one...

Ref Wiring Diagram: http://www.sw-em.com/Wiring_Diagrams...Wiring_Diagram

"reverse lights stay lighted with the ignition off" ...(Brown) wire which is supposed to be supplying Ign Pwr to Reversing Relay from Fuse 2, is supplying instead Batt Pwr...I'd check to see if it has been moved to Fuse 4...

"panel lights to illume with the ignition on or in acc without the light switch being on" ...more creative and incorrect wiring...Panel Lights should be supplied by Light Sw when in Pos 1 or 2 (not 0). I'd check if (White) wire which is supposed to supply Parking Lights Pwr from Fuse 3 has been moved to Fuse 4...

"panel lights to be brighter?" See: http://www.sw-em.com/Intermittent_Va...t_Lighting.htm

Dome Light info: http://www.sw-em.com/Wiring_Diagrams...agram_Excerpts

Good Hunting!

Creative is a charitable description. More likely suffering the vicissitudes of a previous owner too lazy to actually diagnose the problem so they just created a bodge.
