Default Will 17" Volvo wheels fit on a T6 XC60?

Hi Volvo community - I need your help with this one,

Has anyone fitted 17" Volvo wheels to their T6 XC60 (235/65/17)? I found a used pair of 'Valder' wheels (from a D5 XC60), but am concerned they might not fit due to differences in brake rotor sizes.

Failing that, can you fit snow chains to 20" 'Cratus' wheels? I'm hoping to use the car for skiing over winter.

2011 XC60 T6 Polestar R-Design.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers

Mine is fitted with 235 65x17 (D5 2012 xc60). But I’m not a T6.

It looks like you already have 17" on.Why would you only buy a pair when you have 4 wheels ?

OK, I'm going to start by being a bit of t*t, so apologies in advance, but I do provide an some assistance at the end, so it's not all bad.

Deck1ng, He got the exact same size wheels you have from a D5 XC60, so he already knows they fit a D5, the whole point of the question was to see if those wheels from a D5 will fit a T6, so I don't see how this helps.

jasmith44, Not sure if you're trying to be difficult, or not.
If he had 17's on his T6, he wouldn't be asking if they fitted, he quite clearly has 20" Cratus wheels on his car. The 235/65/17 are the size of wheel from the D5 that he is trying to fit to his T6. (I'll admit it could be formatted better, but it is apparent)
As for the pair, It might have been a typo and he meant set, but perhaps he was just going to put them on one axle, as snow chains are only required on one axle. I'll also admit, I'm not sure what that would do to the car having different sized wheels front to back. Make it look like a drag car ?

If you go to the Volvo accessories website, you can select your car, which should bring up the accessories for your model, including wheels. See link below. When the XC60 T6 is selected, it does seem to list a couple of 17" options, So they should fit.

If there isn't confirmation from anyone on here, you could call the dealer and ask. Depending on how helpful you think they'll be, you could pretend you were planning on buying a set of the 17's and ask them to confirm they fit your car.

Finally, I don't see a reason you couldn't fit chains to your 20's

I'd be very careful with chains as the clearance between the and suspension may be too tight. Had that issue on an A4 years ago.

If you just want a get out for emergencies, I'd go with Autosocks as they have no clearance issues and are way easier to fit. I'm pretty sure they are acceptable under European snow chain rules but worth checking to be sure

My 2010 XC60 T6 came from the factory with 235/65/17

I’ve used these successfully a couple of times, as I found chains where just too heavy, awkward and dirty to handle.
Not the cheapest alternative.
