Drain tubes

There are four on the scuttle panel - accessible from under the bonnet - these can get blocked with leaves and detritus and need to be kept clean.

Convertibles There are four drains in the hood storage trunk - under black grilles. Best way to access these, to clean, is by removing the rear wheel arch liners and give them a good poke up from below. Also a good opportunity to check the wheel arches for rust.

Door window cassettes

The cables and/or pulleys have a habit of breaking. Repair kits are available and whilst the cassettes are interchangeable between Coupe and Convertible, the repair kits are different. It is fiddly fitting the kit and adjusting the glass and a lot of folks just fit a second hand cassette complete, although this is just delaying the inevitable when the cable snaps again.

Sun visors The hinges break - particularly on the passenger side - allowing the visor to flop down. Good secondhand visors are increasingly hard to find although the hinges are repairable. Coupe and convertible visors are different.

Electric aerial

These are prone to breaking, although repair kits are available and good secondhand ones also. Coupe and Convertible aerials are different.

Convertible roof

These are very reliable if properly looked after. the opening and closing sequence can be stopped at any point for inspection/cleaning and maintenance.

Lubricate all pivot points and gears to ensure smooth working of the hood. Never open or close the roof without the car standing an flat ground. Any body twist will distort the roof and potentially jam the mechanism and can damage the microswitches. These are unobtainable new.

The rear window is bonded to the roof fabric and can become detached over time. Some folks have reported successful repairs, but this depends on prep and products used. The long term solution is a new roof.
