Default help s60 bi-fuel

HI I have an 2001 02 plate s60 bifuel with 125k.

as i was starting it today i heard a pop sound from the engine and ever since it has been juddering whilst idling. the revs are bouncing when standing, however when revved it seems fine. it is doing the same when it is on petrol and when it is switched to LPG. I also noticed a little extra water coming from the exhaust.....which may be condensation?
Im unsure if is misfiring.
has anyone had a similar problem and does anyone have a solution?

i will be calling the RAC out soon for them to have look.

Any info would be appreciated

Thanks

Bill

As the symptoms are common to both fuels, the problem is more likely to be ignition-related.

Are there any warming lights showing? If the EML is on, do you have any fault codes? Don't rely on the RAC being able to read codes succesfully.

I'd be suspicious of a plug, lead or coil.

What do you mean by extra water from the exhaust? That could just be beacuse the weather's rotten just now, or it could indicate other things.

Is the coolant / oil level remaining where it should?

Is there any oil in the coolant (easy to see in the header tank as an oily film on the surface of the coolant), or water in the oil (indicated by sticky white emulsion on the dipstick or under the oil filler cap).

Does the car have a turbo?

Let us know what the RAC man says.

Cheers

Jack

thanks for the reply.

RAC couldnt do much. The man diagnosed it as the number 1 injector being faulty and told me to get it to a lpg specialist. he put a plastic/rubber cap back in that had blown off where the injectors are and the car stopped juddering whilst idle. he said it is only running on two cylinders and advised me to take it to a lpg special.ist

It is now at an lpg specialist who have replaced the injector on cylinder one as the injector was split. however the car is still misfiring. they said they will sort it out and will get it fixed.....just need to wait and see.
