Engine racing from ignition
Hello all.
For the past several months my 2002 2.0t s60 has been a dream, no issues other than a puncture. It also now has 61500 miles on the clock and due a service. This morning when I started the car the engine shot up to 6000 or so rpm then idled back down at just under 1000. What could have caused this? Is it likley I'll see it again? Does something need repaired or replaced? |

I thought at first it was my foot. Freaked me out it did.
It's not done it since, which is good and is due in for a service. Also still under the volvo selected used car warranty which is a plus. |

I found
Check the state of air cleaner box. Open bonnet, look down the back of the air cleaner box and it may be bent out of shape. Volvo won't sell a lid only (which was the broken part) and the complete box is £139. When the lid is put on it exerts an unfair strain on the box and bends it leaving the lid only partially engaged which can lead to a broken lid then onto a damaged air mass sensor and on to dangerous surges when the car idles. at http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/index.ph...ycar/index.htm |
