Passenger footwell, there are 2 black things visible, one on the door side, other on the transmission tunnel.

I only have this pic available to see.

Anyone knows what those are?

Thanx!

Pretty sure I don't have those brackets poking through the carpet on my D5 MY2016.

Aftermarket whatever they are, the carpet isn't cut tidy enough for them to be factory which means needle in a haystack.

Ex cop car gun rack mount.

Electro gizmo former owner CB equipment mountings

Securing points for mobile foot Jacuzzi

The list is endless but I'd assume they had something unit wise pushed onto them as ready and handy to use at some point.

My car also has these hooks. They were holding fire extinguisher.

Maybe there are more uses...

Edit: I see we are from the same area. It was probably a company car, and fire extinguishers are mandatory for company cars here.

Never thought of that!!! That could be useful.

Do they get in the way for the passenger?

Not that I'm aware of. They are on the wider part of the passenger footwell.
They look pretty thin, so if they do get in the way, i think you can bend them a little.

It's deffo aftermarket and most likely has had a life in the emergency services at some point or a demo for a company selling emergency products.

My mother-in-law had an electric seat winch installed in the passenger side of her Ford to help her get my father-in-law in and out of the car. Something like that maybe?
