Question R Design Logos

Recently took delivery of my new company car which is a new D2 V40 R Design. Car is fine but noticed that the front seat backs do not have the R Design logo embroidered into them as mentioned in the brochure when I chose the car spec. Cant get a response from the lease company. Does anyone know if Volvo have changed the spec since the car was ordered in September ?

They were removed due to customer feedback according to volvo, along with the nice floor matts with logos. Apparently RDesign owners do not want RDesign branding?

I must admit I'm a little disappointed at the removal of R Design branding as they were nice little touches. Shame about the mats though as I've read they aren't as good as the previous ones used with the R Design branding

The new mats are rubbish cheap things, although on a positive note I much prefer the new gear stick. The cost cutting sorry I mean customer lead feedback improvements are not to bad and do not detract from the overall perceived qaulity to much, and other brands like the VW Golf also use the same tactic.

I've heard a bit about the gear stick change but don't actually know what's different as I haven't seen it. As for the other changes I don't think I'll notice after a while and I may put some rubber mats in anyway in place of the carpet ones. I just find they're much easier to keep clean!

The gearknob in my MY2014 is illuminated, which was deleted from the 2015 model I believe, at the same time as the seat logo's. The older R design ribbed mats aren't too great- they seem to wear fairly quickly- not sure what the newer ones come with?

According to the 2015 price list the lux winter pack I have specced should come with an illuminated gear knob. Not a massive deal of it doesn't but would be nice! The mats from what I've read are similar to the branded mats but apparently are thinner?

Yes it will be illuminated as part of the lux winter pack, not sure but think the older style illuminated gear knob was standard on some trims. The new one looks a little plain but feels better in the hand in my opinion, the illumination matches the rest of the interior.
