Default Chugging on idle

I'm still trying to get to the bottom of the chugging on the XC.
I've ruled out egr. That physically doesn't function.
Checking vida for fuel corrections per cylinder, some vary quite a lot.
What wasn't photographed was the correction on cyl 3 which was up in the 3's

The fact that imbalance is across all the injectors at times, have I got a set of stuffed injectors? At 178k, would this be expected?

It's been present since I bought it, but it may be contributing to my dpf issue. Chugging will mean smoke. My d24 experience shows this.

A while ago I had a vibration on our euro 3 D5 V70 so it’s a while since I last used Vida in this way. However a replacement injector fixed my issue which was only diagnosed by looking at fuel correction. I can’t quite remember the tolerance I believe it was +/- 3 and one of mine was well above 3.

Your imbalance across injectors doesn’t concern me as each injector is different and these injectors are coded to the ECM for tolerance reasons. In one photo you have cylinder 5 at +2

Is that still within spec? Not sure if these newer injectors have tighter tolerance than the older class type euro 3 injectors

What I would also add is at your mileage having the injectors reconditioned or replaced will only benefit. Everything has a service life. Injectors can cause serious engine faults and damage when they leak.

I think that with Injector 3 showing above 3 at some times during the scan - I wanted to know what the limit for stuffed injectors is. That's what's making me think that some injectors are possibly bad/dying or just worn out.

At this mileage, is what I suspect, but no, specs? Is why I am relying on the hive mind here!

Just wondering if a tank full of premium diesel and a long drive down the motorway will help?

For the trip up north, I accidentally filled with Vpower... That extra £20, from near empty confirmed that the chug remains. I'm going to try some forté injector cleaner next-as advised elsewhere.

The specs were listed in Vida in the information regarding the correction test you did. Or they used to be. That’s how I knew that above 3 in my case was bad. I am assuming it will be the same for these injectors also but it should say in Vida.

You could try STP High Mileage Diesel Injector Cleaner. Seems to get very good reviews and is cheap. Another "can't hurt" option....

Seems that its always injector 3 that fails. My dad's euro 3 injector number 3 had excessive leak back too.

I'll give that a try. Was thinking of the old ATF in the fuel filter, but the filter is a pig to get at. Plus recent dpf issues would probably be dealing with atf ash too!

Think long term I'll save up and replace the lot if I can.
