Default Instruments on 144

I am thinking about adding some instrumentation in place of the idiot lights on the dash. Oil, temp' etc. Are there any difficulties (adaptors etc) and which brand offer the best value/ reliability.

The most obvious solution is an R sport cluster. Those have VDO instruments. They can be hard to find and most have lost their senders.

Have a look at this thread regarding plumbing in an oil pressure gauge to a B20: http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...t=64030&page=2

I sourced the Smiths oil pressure gauge, some of the smaller adaptors and the braided line for my installation from http://www.minispares.com

If also fitting a water temp gauge (didn't a 140 have one already?), depending on how you want to mount them, they can also supply a Smiths combined oil pressure / water temp unit.

Thanks 222 but now I'm a bit confused. Could you summarise exactly what you used in fitting gauge.
My understanding is adaptor to fit in block hole,1/8"npt male thread with right angled female threaded to accept guage pipe. So also adaptor to fit in female to bring one hole back to1/8"npt for existing oil light sender?
Re oil temp Would it be possible to bore hole in side of sump, insert sender and secure on inside with appropriate nut and soft washer?
Do you stil have a list of all the part numbers?
