V40 cuts out

Hi,
I have a 2018 V40 cross-country 1.5 auto.
Today it completely cut out on me whilst at traffic lights.
No power at all . I had to disengage the steering lock and be pushed to the side of the road
I've owned it for 3 weeks. Main dealer.

Is it common for this to happen and what might be the cause?

I wrote that whilst waiting for the very helpful chap from Volvo Assist.
Turns out the battery was on its last legs and was replaced.
Not happy that I was left stranded. Stuck in a main road without the capability to even use my hazards. The steering lock had also engaged. The car was dead.
Not what one expects from a Volvo.
