FRONT FOG LAMPS &COLOURED LIGHTS!!!
Im increasingly getting hacked off with certain car drivers and truckers. In my line of work (parcel courier for securicor) i travel about 220 miles a day. I am constantly being dazzled by people driving on a clear night (and sometimes during the day!!!) with their front fog lamps on accompanied by dipped beam. The majority of these clowns are young boy racers or wannabe's in their sub-standard Vauxhalls and Fords. This of course is highly illegal but the police dont seem to care.
Truck drivers have recently being competing with each other on who can have the most ridiculas formation of lights on the front of their trucks (and in the cab too!!) I am constantly distracted by amber/blue/red lights, static and flashing. Again highly illegal but the police would rather devote their resources to the speeders out their which brings me to another point....People who drive too slowly!!! Their is nothing more frustrating than people who do 20 miles or so under the limit on single carriageways. Pensioners and women are the major culprits and will quite happily doddle along with 20 + cars behind them. The police should allocate some resources to tackling this (to date i have seen no evidence) The situation encourages people to take unecessary risks which is supported by the hundreds of near misses i have witnessed with cars overtaking 3-5 cars at a time on blind corners.

RE: FRONT FOG LAMPS &COLOURED LIGHTS!!!
Couldn't agree more! The other thing about the fog lights is when people say 'but they are driving lights, not fog lights'.....
It's weird over here in Holland, you can't turn on your rear fogs without the front ones being on, so for people to see me in heavy fog (only used them twice this year) you have to blind the people coming the opposite way, or in front of you. CrAzY.... Laters Stu |

I'm absolutely with you. I hate it, especially if the road is wet, which make you see four pairs of lights. But it's not always boy racers though. I see plenty of middleage men an women in mostly Peugeot 306's with two sets of light. IRRITATING. Am I the only one that hates seeing hazard flashers everywhere??? Cheers

Agree completely on the fog light issue.
Certainly on the V40 they will go off if the ignition is switched off. Assuming that's the same for all cars the teits must be getting in the car and putting them straight on !! As for people driving slowly, have to disagree. I would much prefer to see people driving at a speed they are comfortable with and the conditions allow rather than drive like a lunatic. Of course, if they are driving that slow because they are frightened themselves perhaps action should be taken then. However, I personally see no problem if people want to drive at 20 mph in a 30 or 40 mph zone. Mike |

RE: FRONT FOG LAMPS &COLOURED LIGHTS!!!
One thing I have found with some cars that are fitted with the high powered headlamps is that there is an unlit area of road just infront of the car. Foglamps fill in this area with light. Several of these inconsiderate users have said to me this is why they do it.
As for the blue lights on the screen wash jets, and on the dash, and sometimes behind the front grille, well.................

But isn't the unlit area the area directly in front of the bonnet, where you can't see from the driver's seat anyway??
I always thought my fog lights were crap on the V70, when turned on with the headlights off in the night you can hardly see them on, until I had to drive home on bonfire night from very deep in the country and after about 1 foot in front of the car visbility was literally nothing, a complete wall of white. Trying to drive with the headlights on was a complete joke, I had to drive with sidelights and fog lights at under 5mph for 15 miles. FUN EH! Made me realise you really don't want fog lights to light the air in front of u :) |

>bonnet, where you can't see from the driver's seat anyway?? > I think it depends on the car. We use a lot of Vectra's at work (OK, say what you will) and this is what I have found. Other makes may be better.

RE: FRONT FOG LAMPS &COLOURED LIGHTS!!!
Thanks for all the comments. No i'm not having a bad day it's just one of these pet hates that i've always had. re. the comment on slower drivers. If these people would pull over now and again and allow faster drivers to pass then this may help to illievate some of the frustration...but they dont!!!!
