water in the rear lights
Evening all
I've got a lower light cluster on my v70 that keeps filling up with water. I've had I off the car and can't see any holes or such like and made sure the foam is sealing to the carpet it's still filling up! I'm considering drilling a drain hole in it, does anyone have any experience of it? Thanks

Can only think the foam rubber seal between lamp unit and bodywork has somehow failed or isn't being clamped tightly enough. Take it off, clean the bodywork in the seal area, clean and check seal for damage. Make sure it's being tightly sealed / clamped in place when the bolts are tightened up. Failing that time a quick squirt of sillycone sealant............

I had that with another car. Drilled a tiny (1mm) hole at the bottom, end of problem.

don't they tend to fog up a bit if there's a crack or hole in them?
Or is the problem with fogging and cracks because the water can get in, but not out? |

I reckon a drain could be the way forward.
I attacked with a load of sticky foam the other day, I'll see if that works before I get the drill out. I can always seal it up again if it doesn't work!
