New 940 Seats!
So. My '97 940 had electric seats. The drivers seat was jamming on one side. By pushing the drive cables up, I could sometimes get the seat to move backwards and forwards. My wife couldn't drive it because of this. Also the leather was going, 175k. So Luke (360beast) sold me some nice condition manual seats, and fitted the drivers seat for me. The old seat was, at that point, fully jammed back and not moving, thanks to a dog hair rake joining in with the fun. So even harder for Luke, and it was p*ssing out of the heaven as he sorted it. So. Aren't I a lucky man? And many thanks to Luke, for his persistence, hard work, and sensible pricing....

You're very welcome John!
It was expecting you to drive off in a mobile swimming pool by the time it was done 😁 |

Hey arctan, do you still have your old electric seats and if so are they for sale?
Be interested in attempting a refurb on these for my 940! |

Pretty sure Luke would agree with this, you'd be better off looking for a known working electric seat and doing a cosmetic resto if needed. I've seen the mechanisms on the seats and not only are they overly complex but have at least one weak spot that isn't easy to repair (what killed Johns seat) but have a couple of other potential trouble spots too including the switchgear. That can be fixed usually with contact cleaner and exercising the switches but all said and done, better to start with a known working unit.
