740 Motronic 'chip'
Im looking to 'chip' my F reg motronic equiped 740 so that I can raise the boost on it. Before I go a buy one new (probably a BSR one) I was wondering if anyone has a chip lying around spare that they'd be interested to sell? Freds, Viking or BSR seem to be the three I'll be looking for....
Anyone? |

Hi Craig
£100 buys my now redundant to me BSR chip which is allready installed in an ECU box, just plug it in and wind the boost up. Regards Chesh Dyno Plot below of my 740 when it had the BSR chip in it and boost at 14psi. The figures shown are at the wheels. So approx 260bhp at the flywheel. The other mods done to the car at the time of the dyno were Full 3 inch exhaust Enem v16 camshaft Ported and Polished cylinder head with 38mm exhaust and 46mm Inlet (stock is 35/44) Bayleys Motorsport DV30 Recirculation Dump Valve All the rest of the engine was completley stock. |

Sorry to resurrect an aincient thread, but did your car run at 14 psi for a long time without damaging anything?
I'm about to obtain a similar chip and my car is a motronic equipped 740 turbo, with performance exhaust and air filter. I wondered if it would be safe at 14 psi as everything I've read says how useless the motronic ecu is at dealing with increased boost. Thanks in advance. |
