Ocean mk18 fitment

I have my heart set on Ocean MK18 wheels for my 940 but was wondering which offset to go for et6 or et16? Also do you need spacers with either of them?

Also will there be issues if lowered 40mm?

The standard offset (from memory) is 25ET Luke on a 6.5J wheel. This means the hub face of the wheel is 3.25" + 25mm from the inside edge or 4.25" which is ~107mm.

To get the same distance on the Ocean wheel, given that it's an 8.5J, the centre line is already 4.25" from the inside edge but it has a minimum offset of 6mm. That increases the distance from the hub face to ~4.5" (6mm= ~1/4") so to maintain the clearance on the inside, i'd suggest an ET of 6mm and a 6mm spacer.

However, don't forget the outer edge will be 8.5" from the inner edge so 2" further out than the standard wheels. You may well have to roll your arches to clear the outside edges of the tyre/wheel which would probably mean removing your arch liners too.

What size tyres are you going for? A 235/35/18 tyre is the same size as a 195/65/15 in terms of diameter, a 225/40/18 is 0.4% bigger, a 215/40/18 is 0.8% smaller.

It's going to be an expensive headache sorting it all out but will look good when it's done!

This is only my opinion but i think the ocean 18s need a good suspension drop to look good, not sure if 40mm would cut it.
Personally I prefer the Ocean DTM wheels which suit a 940 with only a modest drop better.
If you went for the 18’s I’d want a decent amount of tyre on them to protect the rim edges.
