Obviously we totally appreciate these 'steer' functions are there 100% to help avoid accidents etc which is why we are seriously considering them in the first place.

Thanks in advance.

NB The garage agreed to price match the £1085 + £75 that is on the accessories website.
If you have ever experienced that torque steer 'tug at the wheel' when driving over some of those white lines, it is very similar. If you indicate you are changing lanes then you don't get the tug at the wheel as the car realises what you intend to do.

I'm in the opposite camp and don't use the pilot assist, if I have to keep my hands on the wheel I may as well steer the car. Lane Keeping is a good safety aid and also run off road and collision mitigation. I didn't spec BLISS as I'm not sure I would trust it, much prefer mirror and shoulder checks.

Just a quick update,
I went to Volvo dealership and asked again about the Intellisafe assist.
The Sales guy who told me it couldn't be done said again it couldn't be done.

I asked at reception and she sorted it out straight away!!
Booked in for the 1st of June. Pilot Assist, ACC and Distance Alert to be fitted.

Glad I chased it up.

Great news!

Wish I could do the same thing, but I have a wedding to pay for first!

Well, hopefully that salesman will remember for next time.

You should really be talking to the service department about these kinds of upgrades. Can't really expect a sales representative to what upgrades are available and what aren't.

I just find it bizarre that they wouldn't promote updates and extras even more so when you ask for them. They were certainly quick enough to offer service plans when I bought the car.

I could have walked away and spent £1000 elsewhere. Ive always been of the opinion that you can have anything you want if you are willing to pay for it.

Stoneacre have never been off the phone since I bought the car, asking if want this insurance or that service plan.

Really looking forward to getting it fitted. I do approx. 20,000 miles a year so it will get well and truly used.

The salesman was probably dismissive as he wouldn't be getting commission from selling the upgrade. Salesmen often lose interest once they've sold you the car.

However the dealership pays his salary and the dealership DOES make profit by selling the upgrade.

What he should have done was refer you to the Service Department.

Just a quick update.
Had the Intellisafe assist fitted. Just over £1100 in total.
Had a quick go of the pilot assist on the way back from the garage. Terrifying!! Only joking, can't wait to have a go run on out using it.

I really am enjoying Pilot assist. Using it I can do easily 6h of drive and still not be tired.

2 weeks ago i went to Cornwall in the morning and back through the night during the same day. It helps a lot !!!

That's a decent drive.
I had a good run out today on the A1. Used both pilot Assist and ACC, its a bit nerve wracking when you're waiting for your car to slow down when the car ahead starts to slow
