Default B18a Twin carb manifold wanted...

hi there, i have a 66 b18a, with a single stromberg carb. i am looking to put a sports exhaust and twin carb setup on to improve it a bit.

so does anyone have an intake manifold with or without carbs? can be SU or Weber, i am not fussed at this stage.

Upgrade the cam first, maybe to a "D" cam, otherwise there will be virtually no difference. That assumes that the carbs are in good nick and properly tuned. Could even be worse performance with less mpg. Even with a "D" cam a single Stromberg can work pretty well unless you spend all your time over 4k rpm.

Hi Derek, I have a aluminium dual intake manifold which will fit a B18 or B20. Will fit 13/4" HS6 SU Cards but also SU HD6 and Stromberg 175CD Carbs should fit I think. It will clean up nice and I can't see anything visibly wrong. I bought it as I was going to change to SU carbs but upgrading to megasquirt FI instead. £20 plus postage which is probably about £5.

I have the B18b, and went from a C to D cam. Already had the twin SUs etc. I would say the D cam sucks all the mid range torque but gives you more high end power. The C cam is much nicer for toodling around town, but the D will open you up for more power on the highway.

Just my experience.

cheers for the advice Derek, i've been think about the Cam already.. but i first need to build some knowledge in that area..

the main reason i want to separate the intake and exhaust manifold is to drop in a decent exhaust system. going twin carb is probably better than going with a single, but sure for a few quid i can play around with a few different setups and see what i really like..

anyway, i'm sure any bits i don't use, will be recylced on this forum
