Advise on DPF repair.
Good morning gentleman.
I think i got sold a lemon volvo d4. It was using a lot of oil, around 1l /1000 km if i baby it. Found it to be a bad pcv valve (i think), and i just replaced the rocker cover yesterday so I can't be sure if the oil consumption has been fixed. However glove test passed hehe I've driven the car for over 10.000 km in the last 2 months including a trip to Spain and back to Germany. The dpf regeneration is always on, no matter what. I get horrible mpg around 7.5/9 l/100km on the highway and the dpf soot level always goes down from 46grams to 0 and then jumps back up. I removed the pressure pipe thingy and i cleaned it using the metal wire method so i think is obstacle free. My next thing on the bucket list is to clean the dpf wich i think must be absolutely clogged with soot/oil. I am going to attempt to do it myself since i am really tight on money. I have a quick question, would it be okey to drive the car without a dpf from the self help garage i will br going to and back to my house to clean the dpf ?i can't dismantle it on the street because germany.. Thanks gents ! |
