Default 440 Heater Problems

Basic problem, It doesn't work

Last spring I had a series of problems with leaks in various parts of the cooling system, and poured all sorts of gunk into it in an attempt to delay the fitting of a new radiator ( found the job much easier than expected )

Refilled system and all was well, didn't notice heater not working, as was heading into summer. Now with cold weather here it is very noticable and in danger of suffering frostbite on way to work

Is it possibly just a case of the system not being bled and an air lock in the heater matrix, or have I gunked it up, if just needs bleading a few pointers how done would be helpfull

Cheers

Phil

Default Heater

If it is bunged up how easy is it to replace ?

Is it a part that is sucessfully salvaged from a scrapyard, or better to get a reconditioned unit

Cheers

Replaced thermostat today when i took it out it looked closed and a bit of a mess, put new one in what you know nice warm air out the heaters and the car is running at a more normal temp not so cold.
