Just had a look, the bushes on the anti roll bar are good.
Edit. Just took it back from mechanic, obviously he didn't find anything Last edited by Mac940; Apr 26th, 2017 at 12:49. |

I had a similar knock on a car several years ago, took ages to find. It turned out to be a door knocking on the locking catch.
Adjusted the striking bar and noise disappeared.

I'd also just double check the two lower strut bolts, these have some play and must be quite tight. Also check the wheel lugs while there, who knows loose wheel lugs = knocking noise while driving

I had a knocky ratlle on some roads, and it was the inner track rod ends.
It was a bit more metallic than the somewhat muted recording. The inners are weak on these the outers are nuke proof. To check, lift one side and apply full lock to put the toe fully in. push/pull lightly (without shimmying the steering wheel via the rack) at 3 and 9 oclock on the roadwheel. If you can detect movement even 1mm play or more on the track rod where it goes int to rack then there is enough slack to sound off on the right surface. Often slower speeds around town streets |

Inner track rods were replaced too.
I took a big crowbar and what I found out was that the nut on the drop link came a tiny bit loose - but enough to make noise as the stress on them is quite big. Possibly it's got something to do with my latest adventure on a most bumpy road ever. Anyway, I replaced the nut with a new one (nyloc) just to be sure and it's back to normal Ps. I had a noise from a loose wheel before too - 3 weeks after puncture repair. I'm guessing the nuggets at the tyre shop didn't tighten it properly and it came loose. |
