How to replace the AC low pressure switch
Hi everyone,
I have a 2011 S40 T5. I have traced my AC problems to a bad AC low pressure switch. I read in this this forum that with other models, you can simply unscrew the old one and put the new one without needing to drain the system of freon. I just wanted to confirm with the "experts" out there if this is the case with the 2011 S40 T5. Can I simply replace the low pressure switch without losing any freon? Thanks in advance for the help |

I am interested in what symptoms you are getting to have to replace this?
I suppose you could crack off the sensor slightly and see if any gas leaks out. |

I'd imagine you'll need to get your system emptied first before replacing the pressure switch.

Did you need to empty the A/C system?
If you were able to replace the A/C low pressure switch without emptying the freon, could you confirm this? Thanks!

Yes, I was able to replace the low pressure switch without emptying the Freon. Once you disconnect the wiring, just unscrew the old switch and replace the new switch and put the wiring back. Very quick and easy job.
Hope this helps! |
