Default Which tyres for C70 ?

Looking to replace all four tyres soon on the 17” wheels I’ve just had refurbed, which have unknown brand Chinese tyres on.

The car is 2007 D5.
Lots of tyre sites come up with the Avon ZV7 235/45/17 for £80 which seem like a good deal. Has anyone had anyone experience with how these ride as I was also going to look at Continental premium contact 6 or push the budget and get a set of Michelin Crossclimate+. Has anyone any experience of these on the car as well?

Personally I don't like Avon tyres, they seem to crack and degrade pretty quickly.

Michelin CrossClimates are excellent and wear very well, even if they cost a bit more up front you save in the long term.

Also fitted Vredestein Quatrac Pros on a C30 D5 and they also seem good, similar concept to CrossClimates but a fair bit cheaper. Bought these from Camskill.

If you are going AS, I run & rate these very highly, and usefully cheaper than the CC+
On the C70 I have PS4s, and also find them quite noisy, as another poster said.

Slightly narrower but £80 fitted and they come to you was good for me.

I wonder if people sometime agonise too much about tyres and forget that price doesn't mean better.

You're also paying for the marketing, promotion and inflated salaries for managers of the products from the big companies.

Tyre safety is regulated so the Aldi-type option isn't bad.

My go-to tyres for years over many marques have been Falken.

I ran the Michelin Crossclimates for 3 years on the much heavier Lexus RX450h and they did a much better job than the standard tyres. Kwikfits current off means £400 fitted, otherwise they are very expensive.

No experience of the Avon’s either. Normally my go to tyre for FWD has always been the Continentals Pilot Sport and Sport Contact with no problems.

For the price the Vredestein look a good deal. I’ve often stuck winter tyres on to get up the hills here in winter when beaten thr 4x4s whoa don’t. So it would save money if the Quatrac’s would be ok on the C70.
Edit to add, just not sure about the noise, quieter might be better in this car?

I've used CrossClimates and Vredestein Quatrac 3 & 5 before, all of which were good but I now run Yokohama BluEarth-4S AW21 all seasons. Genuinely excellent in winter and perfectly decent in summer. Ideal for the Scottish climate.

For summer tires I always found Pirelli C7 Cinturato
decent along with Continental Sport Contact 5.

If winter is not to bad in your area, all seasons are the way to go. However don't buy Crossclimate+, because very soon Crossclimate 2 will be available, which is better.
