On a vaguely related note, I am yet to see a 71 reg on the roads yet, and I drive 100 miles a day. I usually see the new reg even before the date of release when I spot the cars on the back of a transporter heading along the M180, but so far nothing. Not a single one. I guess this chip shortage is really hitting supply.

The press release says:
***UK pricing details are available at www.volvocars.co.uk. The updated Recharge models are on sale in the UK now, with first customer deliveries expected in Q1 2022.

Guessing my yet to be built V60 Recharge that’s due in November won’t get it but I’ll ask the dealer in the morning anyway

Cars are updated most years, sometimes minor, sometimes major, some downgrades too. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, upgrades have to be made.

It can be irritating, but that’s new car life!

Volvo is the only manufacturer I know of that update a car less than 5 months after releasing a facelift…

XC60…yes a fair point, I was thinking more about XC90. A mid year change is a bit odd, I can only assume that this power train upgrade wasn’t ready for the facelift or component delays due to COVID etc prevented everything being launched in one go. All the tooling and supplies were probably lined up for the new parts so could be delayed.

Yes a little annoying. Fortunately I don’t do long journeys but other people that do will be cancelling their orders now i’d imagine! A huge boost to combined mpg and range as well as power increase isn’t exactly a small change for mid year.

I’ll be doing the same if they don’t confirm my current order will be this spec, or if I cannot transfer this order over to the new model

That will be quite a transformation.

Oh well…only 30 months of the lease left on my MY21.5!! 🤣
I'm in the same boat as you. Playing the long game though....those that jump into this upgrade now will be crying when we pick up our SPA2's before them. We can then rejoice in the 200 mile range and the 550bhp of our new XC90's
