No, it's being discontinued. Given the ongoing problems with PP hoses it's probably a good thing that it's being dropped.

The PP hose, once out of warranty, could easily be replaced by something far more heavy duty, like a high pressure hydraulic hose. Its just a pipe.

I see where you are coming from here... But if its that simple, and from what we can see in this forum, Volvo are having an issue with so many cars, why have they not replaced with something more heavy duty already?

Because they are cheapskates? Or because they thought that they had it sorted?

However, does anyone know what the issue with the pipe is? It could be a variety of issues from poorly crimped joints, stress at bends, chafing against other components or hard edges, excess heat due to proximity, poor plastic, cheap Chinese hoses, insufficient pressure rating or any combination of the above or something else entirely. Its probably not as simple as you imagine. Or maybe it is but Volvo engineers just didn't get it right on the recall. Who knows. I would put it down to teething troubles. I have not had a single issue since it was replaced or re-attached the second time, a week after the first time. I suspect that the mechanic didn't fasten it properly when he changed it the first time.

Is this 100% correct? Just checking because I'm moving from D5 to B5 this month (my powerpulse hose on my D5 was replaced recently)

I read it somewhere but can't remember where now.

You're too kind (but I'll lap it up anyway).

Now I feel under pressure to find the source...

I like the pedigree of the T5. Granted it’s a very different engine these days. Don’t know what to make of having B5 on the back instead.

Anyone know when polestar are due to release an optimisation for the B5..?

Perhaps the B5 engine was perfomance tuned from day 1 so no need for a Polestar upgrade
or
Polestar are so busy working on their electric vehicle they have not time to work on the B5 engine which they think is only going to be around for a year or so before being phased out by a dedicated electric powered vehicle.
