Default Centre cap question

So I have found some alloys with tyres to downgrade from my 20 inch wheels on my s90 inscription. I will stick these 18s on come winter. Anyone know if Jaguar xf centre caps fit Volvo's?

I went on my first long run up to Manchester and get a bad bit of road at speed and it's unnerving in 20 as there's just not that cushion. Feel like I might derail. Maybe I'm just being dramatic. Didn't help the traffic was mental and took me all around the countryside.

Obviously I'll see when I arrive and the guy is going to check.

Anyone know how easy the caps come out too?

Thanks

Am I right in thinking that you have bought 18 inch Jaguar wheels and are going to fit then to your S90? This is the first time that I have heard these are interchangeable and compatible. Would therefore be very interested in your experience. Which model of Jaguar are they from?

Jaguar XF.

The guy seems to think they are.

The wheels are 245/45/18 which is the recommended for 18 inch, but obviously it's the rims etc as well that have to be compatible.

I suspect that the wheels won't be quite the same (doesn't mean they won't fit). Although the centre cap seems the same, the offset is slightly different - 45m on the Jag and 42mm on the Volvo. Although the difference is small, it might just compromise clearance. For more info, try here: https://www.wheel-size.com

I would also advise informing your insurance company to understand the impact as you are fitting wheels that are not OE and also not from the same brand.

On a similar theme Phillip, a pal had all four wheels stolen from his new V90 R Design (along with other damage) when parked in a supposedly-secure location in Central Manchester. When recovery was eventually arranged they turned up with a set of Freelander wheels which fitted perfectly to enable the car to be recovered.

It seems therefore that JLR wheels do fit Volvo SPA models?

What size are you 20" tyres? if they are anything different to 245/35/20 they may not fit.

Thanks for the help and my current tyres are 255/35/.

I didn't think of informing my insurance company.

I'm not even sure my 20 inch wheels come as standard on an S90 inscription as when I put my reg in a lot of places it comes up with the 18s.

I just bought the car with them on about 6 months a go, gave the reg to my insurance company.

The correct tyre for a Volvo 20” alloy is 255/35/R20. (47.5 offset)

The correct tyre for a Volvo 18” alloy is 245/45/R18. (42 offset)

The centre bore is 63.4mm on your Volvo. I believe the Jag’s is the same.

So the tyres on the XF alloys are correct size for a Volvo, as is the centre bore.

The offsets on a Jag alloys are different to Volvo, so that’s going to have an effect on the handling if the Jag wheels were to fit on your car. Saying that, the lug nuts are different… I don’t think it’ll work because you won’t be able to put the nuts from XF alloys into the holes on the Volvo.
