Default V40 D4 VEA vs. D3 5 cyl.

I have just swapped my 2015 model V40 D3 (with the 5 cyl. engine) for a 2016 D4 with the VEA engine - here are my first impressions:
  • The engine is obviously more powerful if you look at the way the car picks up speed, but feels less so as the power delivery is smoother and less "peaky" compared to the D3.
  • The twin turbo design definitely makes a huge difference - there is almost no turbo lag.
  • The engine is much much quieter - in the D3 I was always aware of the diesel clatter, whereas in the D4 I can almost be lulled into thinking it is a petrol engine.
  • The 8-speed transmission shifts totally imperceptible - wow!
I believe the Polestar upgrade makes it even better. Anybody have some pre- and post-Polestar experience on the D4 VEA?

Julianpms - thanks for your PM but I cannot respond ... apparently I have not been a member of the forum for long enough. Answer - no I am not a VOC member - being in the southern hemisphere!
