Default popping noise

... When driving in a straight line or reversing in a straight line at slow speeds, 5 to 10mph I'm getting a popping noise, as if something is turning over and getting caught or rubbing.

It doesn't happen when turning.

Any ideas as I checked the archers and the rear are slightly loose but aren't touching the wheel.

Check the handbrake shoes as the friction material has a habit of working loose and breaking away from the shoe, this can cause clicking at lower speeds - Mike

Cheers, you be right Mike as my handbrake was advised as being too high on its recent mot and if I leave the handbrake on overnight it sticks and doesn't fully unstick until I drive for about 10 seconds so it needs looking at.

Also it's at its worse when first driven in the morning and after work so I'll stop using the handbrake overnight or long periods until I check the shoes.
