Default 940 Diesel faulty fuel gauge

Hey folks...95 940 TD...fuel guage has a mind of its own!!! When reading about quarter full its empty ( found out the hard way!) When you put about 30 quid in it rises a little and decreases slowly! Any comon faults out there that you would recommend trying in order or probability? 😁

Have you tried a new sensor Jim? If not then I would replace that first, if that doesn't work then it is probably going to be a wiring issue. If the sensor is the same as a redblock I've got a couple of used ones that I know work that you could try.
