Mudflaps arrived the other day all OK and rivets too.
The mudflaps are certainly identical looking to genuine Volvo ones with all the relevant part numbers etc etc I wonder if they are now being made in China to go with the Mk 1 XC90s that I was led to believe are now being built there, and some got "diverted" via Switzerland??? The (black plastic) rivet heads seem to be a bit small relative to the size of the mounting holes in the mudflaps so I've ordered some M5 x 15mm stainless washers to bridge the gap. I'll report back after Easter on how it all goes together Cheers Dave |

Did your rivets come with the mudflaps or did you order the same ones I did from eBay? The ones I got seemed a good fit and I wasn’t worried about them going through the hole in the mudflap itself and then coming loose or falling off.

The same off ebay I think
Diameter of the plastic flange of the rivets is 12mm Mounting holes in the mudflaps are 9mm dia. or the oval one is 9 x 10mm I just felt that was a bit too "loose" I'll see how the washers work and report back Cheers Dave |

Turns out its just the rears that have the big mounting holes (I hadn't looked closely at the fronts)
So I'll have loads of washers (when they get here) Cheers Dave |

It's a funny thing Chunk
Now that we all have loads of time on our hands, it seems difficult to get around to those jobs that need doing. I was just thinking I ought to go and at least wash off the appropriate areas on the car for the fitting the flaps... I have new, sharp, 6mm drills, the washers are here, I have the rivets, I have a rivet gun, I have a battery drill. All that's missing is motivation. But I will deffo get around to it soon and will post up some pix etc Cheers Dave |

Question - how far below the trim line do the mud flaps go? Just wondering how much protection to the underside of the car they offer?

Not very far at all a couple of inches at most. If you do a quick google image search you will see. I prefer the looks of the car with them on they are quite subtle but with regards to body protection probably not much although the fronts appear to protect the side steps a bit more.
